Vedettes:
Vedettes is the second band formed by Lofflin, Weiler and White, whose first project together was Honeybaby (2005-2007). Vedettes formed in spring 2015 with the addition of Metz, who was a long-time friend of Lofflin. More than anything, friendship and a love of playing – both in the basement and live – are what drove them to come together again, along with an affinity for aggressive, melodic, guitar-driven rock. To a certain extent, they wanted to get back-to-basics at a time when rock music seemed to have lost its popularity. While different artists inspire the members, they all agree solid, loud, dissonant-yet-tuneful, blues-influenced music is what they like to play together. While the music continues to evolve, the core of their sound is a glossed-up rawness that generates its power from angst just as much as liberation – which pretty much sums up the genre, in general.
